The Visionary Behind the Festival
Dr. Biju
Dr. Bijukumar Damodaran (Dr. Biju), one of India’s most respected independent filmmakers, leads the Adoor International Film Festival as its Festival Director. With more than two decades of creative excellence, Dr. Biju’s works have been officially selected for prestigious international festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Shanghai, and Cairo.
His award-winning films such as Perariyathavar, Veyilmarangal, Painting Life, Sound of Silence, and Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal have earned critical acclaim for their bold narratives, humanistic themes, and artistic vision.
As the guiding force behind IFFA, Dr. Biju envisions a platform that connects global filmmakers with Indian audiences and promotes socially relevant, meaningful cinema.
